I would like to introduce the latest development in regenerative medicine and the use of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) – a preparation designed for topical application of PRP and how to prepare it in a clinical setting.
Plasmafy serum allows the use of a myriad of endogenous growth factors that stimulate collagen production, improve delicate vascularization, follicle health and restore the hair follicle cycle.
The idea of topically administered PRP (Plasmafy) was developed by Dr. Kay Linker PhD in 2019 in the United States, while as a hair transplant surgeon I saw great potential and decided to incorporate the product into my hair restoration surgery practice.
It is also not insignificant that Plasmafy can be used to both treat hair loss and is very effective in the healing process of donor and recipient areas after hair transplantation.
Before Plasmafy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments were only available in a doctor’s office. This product is revolutionizing the field of hair loss by bringing personalized medical-grade PRP treatments to everyday use.
Plasmafy topically applied PRP is characterized by its non-invasiveness and lack of discomfort associated with the injection itself.
Plasmafy’s serum enables the use of a myriad of endogenous growth factors that stimulate collagen production, improve delicate vascularization, follicle health and restore the hair follicle cycle.
Plasmafy is made with only the highest quality ingredients that are safe and effective for all skin types and textures/ scalp.
The pure, natural ingredients in Plasmafy support PRP and scalp health. Specialized sugars (monosaccharides, glycans) and proteins that support cell health sustain the release of growth factors for 3 months and potentially longer after PRP collection.
Plasmafy uses advanced cell culture techniques to preserve platelet life and function (growth factor release). This is done through essential ions, buffers, amino acid mixture and protective reagents.
Below is a graph of the stable release of growth factor from PRP, sustained by our cell-stabilizing cocktail.
PDGF release from PRP with and without Plasmafy Serum support. PDGF (Platelet Derived Growth Factor) is a canonical growth factor that is an indicator of platelet health and overall growth factor release. The use of supportive glycans, amino acids and ions increases the release of PDGF with PRP over time compared to PRP alone.
Since PRP is made from your blood, there is no immune reaction observed with exogenous growth factors, and the beneficial effects of these growth factors are effectively taken up by the appropriate cells – dermal papilla and epithelial cells. This makes Plasmafy an excellent hair loss treatment line for patients looking for an everyday product.
It should be mentioned that platelet-rich plasma administered in the traditional manner is still an excellent gold standard and should be used as a component of hair loss treatment and scalp regeneration after hair transplantation. However, it is an invasive method and requires injection of the product into the scalp immediately after preparation.
In contrast, the daily delivery of a patient’s once-prepared plasma containing their own growth factors as a solution without the need for injection, this makes Plasmafy an excellent hair loss treatment line for patients looking for a daily product.
