Hair transplant performed by an experienced surgeon is a safe procedure. However, it is important to note that proper preparation on the part of the patient is also required. This will avoid the risk of rare complications. Find out what recommendations apply to clinic patients before a hair transplant.

Medical history before the scheduled procedure

Before the hair transplant procedure, it is important to inform the clinic about the medications you are currently taking. This will ensure that you receive appropriate advice. It is imperative that you continue to take prescribed medications for lowering blood pressure, heart disease, epilepsy or the like. Inform us in detail about your medical condition, especially in the case of heart disease, bleeding, blood clots, wound healing problems, heart murmurs and keloids. If you suffer from allergies or have allergic reactions to medications, it is essential to inform the clinic. It is also important not to take aspirin, bromine or vitamin E five days before the procedure. No alcohol should be consumed 24 hours before the procedure.

How to prepare for the procedure?

  • The night before the procedure, get a good night’s sleep and relax.
Take care to ensure that you have the right conditions to prepare your body and mind.
On the day of the procedure, wash your hair thoroughly with shampoo.
Dress in a loose shirt or button-down blouse. This way you will avoid putting clothes over your head.
Eat a light meal that will give you energy but will not overtax your body.
Immediately after a hair transplant, you should not drive a car. Provide transportation to your home. If this would be impossible, inform the medical staff of the clinic so that we can select medications accordingly.
Our staff will be happy to answer any questions or concerns.

Diet before hair transplantation surgery

We recommend that you eliminate from your diet 10 days before the procedure:

  • fish products
    sushi
    supplements containing omega 3 acid
You can return to these products immediately after the procedure.

If you are using Minoxidil (Regaine, Loxon 2% or 5%), its use should be discontinued two weeks before the procedure. It can be resumed regularly 3 weeks after hair transplantation.
